Therapy at HEAL
At the HEAL Ranch clients shed stress, connect with innate strengths, and cultivate emotional resilience. Sessions may be held in the office, or clients may choose Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) - working with horses to support therapeutic growth. In addition to EFP, Leigh teaches mindfulness and employs somatic and cognitive-behavioral strategies to help clients ease depression and anxiety, recover from trauma, and grow from surviving to thriving. Leigh works with clients of all ages, including couples, families and groups.
Private therapy sessions may be undertaken to address specific mental health symptoms or problem behaviors, or for support and personal growth in times of change. Brief therapy is effective for some issues while others will benefit from a longer course of sessions. Scheduling and formats can be flexible for out of area participants.
Ongoing therapy sessions are scheduled weekly or semi-monthly, following an initial assessment and treatment planning session. These sessions can be tailored for depression and anxiety, trauma recovery, spiritual emergence, and other issues for individuals, couples and families. All sessions are in a customized format to fit individual situations and may include Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy if desired. Sessions are generally one and a half hours in length but may be shorter or longer by client request.

Standard Session: $180
Intensive Session: $480
* 50% deposit is required for initial session.

Payment Policy
For insurance coverage please check with your insurance provider to confirm mental health sessions are covered. Our office can check the status of your benefits and coverage. Pending approval of benefits we will bill your insurance for you. You are responsible for paying co-insurance or co-payment at the time of services are rendered.
Scholarship/Subsidy
If you are paying out of pocket you may request an application for scholarship funding through HEAL. Partial scholarships are based on need for services and family income. Availability of funding varies.
Cancellation Policy
First Session: If a schedule change is requested more than 30 days in advance of the first session, the deposit will be transferred to another date less a $50 processing fee. Within 14 days of the scheduled date the deposit becomes non-refundable with exceptions made for travel conditions or medical emergencies (in which case the deposit will be applied to a rescheduled date). If a reserved date is canceled by HEAL, any deposits paid will be refunded in full.
Following Sessions: If a schedule change is requested more than 24 hrs in advance of a session there will be no cancellation fee. If a schedule change is requested with less than 24 hrs notice there will be a 50% cancellation fee charged.
